☀️ As families make summer memories at our pools, we'd like to take a moment to recognize the team working behind the scenes to make those moments safe and possible.

More than 70 seasonal employees help operate Legion Pool and VFW Aquatic Facility each summer. On a typical day, it takes 7 employees to safely staff Legion Pool and 15-17 employees to operate VFW.

Before the season even begins, our staff completes extensive training and certification requirements:

🏊 Lifeguards complete 20 hours of preseason training and maintain Lifeguard and CPR certifications.
🏊‍♀️ Pool management completes 26 hours of preseason training and maintains Lifeguard and CPR certifications.
🍿 Pool facility attendants complete 12 hours of preseason training and maintain CPR and Food Handler certifications.

Thank you to all of our seasonal pool staff for helping provide a safe, fun, and enjoyable summer for our community. 👏

Looking for a different kind of yoga experience this summer? 🐐🐶 De Pere Parks, Recreation, and Forestry is offering two unique yoga opportunities that combine movement and some four-legged company.

🐐 Goat Yoga at Voyageur Park
• June 29
• July 20
• Sept. 14

🐶 Therapy Dog Yoga at the De Pere Community Center
• July 22
• Aug. 12

Bring your own yoga mat and get ready for a yoga experience that's anything but ordinary. Both programs are open to ages 13+. Cost is $21 per session.

From giveaways and family activities to after-hours events and inflatable obstacle courses, we've got a full summer of fun planned. Here are just a few highlights:

🎁 Giveaway Days
• June 19 – Goggles Giveaway
• July 10 – Freeze Pop Frenzy (first 100 patrons)
• July 24 – Beach Towel Giveaway
• August 14 – Freeze Pop Frenzy (first 100 patrons)

🏊 Special Events
• July 4 – Independence Day Games at both pools

🌊 Flotation Fridays
Take on our inflatable obstacle course on June 27, July 17, and August 7 at Legion!

🌙 Kids Night Out to Rule the Pool
Students entering grades 6-8 can enjoy after-hours swimming, games, and competitions on June 17 and July 15 at Legion. Registration required; $5 per participant.

Badges and Bobbers is a community event hosted by De Pere Parks, Rec & Forestry Department and De Pere Police Department. This event is meant to build and enhance the relationship between Law Enforcement and children of De Pere. Children will learn and be educated on the great sport of fishing with the assistance from members of De Pere Police and De Pere Fire Rescue. No experience needed, all equipment will be provided by the Isaak Walton League. Snacks and water will be provided for participants. Parents are invited to stay during the event.

Friendly reminder that the De Pere City Band is hosting free concerts this summer at Nelson Family Pavilion in Voyageur Park. The first one is TONIGHT. Admission is FREE! Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged.

We're one week away from the first "Kids Night Out to Rule the Pool!" of the Summer. Sign-up now to claim spots for your children! 🏊‍♂️🌙🎉

This event will feature plenty of fun and games, including sponge tag, cannon ball splash competitions, beach ball races, and many other activities at the pool after dark! Lifeguards will be on duty. Limit of 60 participants.

💧 Age group: 6th - 8th graders
💧 Where: Legion Pool
💧 When: Wednesday, June 17
💧 Time: 8 - 9 pm
💧 Fee: $5 per participant
