Our School Resource Officers and crossing guards are ready for another school year and look forward to seeing students again. They’ll do what they can to help make this a safe, positive, and enjoyable year for everyone.

But we all have a part to play, too. With back-to-school traffic beginning again, the City of De Pere, De Pere Fire Rescue, and De Pere Police Department remind everyone to stay alert and use extra caution around schools, buses, and crosswalks.

🚌 Be cautious and alert near school bus stops.
🚸 Motorists are required to slow down to the posted speed limit in school zones.
🛑 Stop for pedestrians in crosswalks.
🚶‍♂️ Remember, students are often near traffic while waiting for rides or walking to school.
👀 Stay alert in school zones with high vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
⚠️ Pedestrians and parents, please be patient and follow all crossing guard direction.

Let’s all do our part to help make the school year safe and enjoyable for our students. Thank you.

🚔 Interested in learning more about your local police department? Join the De Pere Police Department Citizen’s Academy this fall!

The academy will run Tuesday nights from September 8 – November 1, 2026, from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm.

Participants will learn about:
• Traffic Stops
• K-9 Unit
• Drug Trends
• Use of Force
• Crime Scene Investigations (CSI)
• Visit with De Pere Fire & Rescue

This program is open to anyone 18 years of age or older who lives or works in De Pere.

☀️ This week, we wrapped up another great summer of our PACK (Police and Community Kids) Program!

Thank you to all the kids, families, and community partners who joined us throughout the summer. Thank you to De Pere Fire Rescue for coming to join the fun. We're grateful for all the smiles, laughter, and new memories made, and for the opportunity to connect with so many wonderful young people in our community. 💙👮

We can't wait to see everyone again next summer!
