The Ingle Home The original portion of The Ingle Home was built in 1842, before the incorporation of De Valls Bluff, and belonged to a local farming family. His daughter, Mrs.

When the Civil War came to the Arkansas Delta, the house was occupied by the forces of Captain Joel McClintock of Company I of the 57th USCT Infantry. After the Civil War, the house was bought by the Gates brothers who operated it as a bed and breakfast and sometimes saloon. The Gates brothers sold the house to their cousin, Abraham Frolich, a merchant, businessman, and state politician, in 1871.

Frolich had no male children, and his fortune passed to his daughter and son-in-law on his death. Rhodes, is well remembered for teaching piano lessons in the home. The local park and a street are both named for the Rhodes family. The home is currently a private residence belonging to the Ingle family.

At different times, the home has served as a private residence, military offices for the Union Army, a bed and breakfast, a saloon, a synagogue, a private piano studio, and residence again.
