📸🏛️ Happy City Hall Selfie Day! 📸🏛️

Celebrating the place where community ideas turn into action, neighbors come together and local government works for all of us. Proud to be part of our community! 💙

City Hall Selfie Day is a celebration of public service showcasing pride in local governmental institutions. We're proud to live, work, and play in such a wonderful city! This annual nationwide event is organized by Engaging Local Government Leaders.

We are so incredibly grateful to our staff, Mayor Charlie Mook and City Commissioners who proudly serve this community.

After much deliberation, the City of Deadwood has made the tough decision to cancel the Chuckwagon Gathering and Cowboy Show scheduled for September 12, 2026. We apologize for any inconvenience. Refunds for ticket holders will be issued within the next few days.

The City of Deadwood has announced the cancellation of the Deadwood 150th Chuckwagon Event scheduled for Saturday, September 12, due to extreme fire danger and the current burn ban.

With continued dry conditions and an extended weather forecast that does not indicate significant improvement, event organizers determined that proceeding with the Chuckwagon Event would pose an unacceptable fire risk.

Tickets for the September 12 Chuckwagon Event will be refunded at the original point of purchase. For additional information, contact the City of Deadwood at 605-578-2082.

This morning, one of the Deadwood Trolleys was on its way to Rapid City for repairs. While on the way, it stalled and began smoking, proceeded to catch fire and is a complete loss. The driver was the only passenger and was able to exit the trolley and call emergency services.
We want to extend a sincere thank you to the Sturgis Police Department, Meade County Sheriff’s Office, South Dakota Highway Patrol, Sturgis Fire Department, SD Wildland Fire, and Sturgis Ambulance Service who all responded.

Due to the Crescent Street Storm Sewer construction project, our trolleys are not able to enter the rodeo grounds during or immediately following the rodeo. We tried last night and the area is too congested with pedestrian and vehicular traffic to do so safety. To get picked up during these times, please go to the Cadillac Jack's stop. We will try to get back to the Days of '76 campground between 10:30 pm - 11:00 pm or once traffic allows.
