Ida May has arrived at Sandy Point State Park for the first annual Skipjack Heritage Days this weekend September 13-14 with the Skipjack race being held on Sunday the 14th at noon.

Ida May is back! Back in the water and getting ready for the race season! A big thank you to Scott’s cove marina for keeping the Ida May and the rest of the Skipjack fleet going. They currently have 8 Skipjacks in the boatyard getting prepped for the season.

🎃 Happy Halloween! The Skipjack Ida May had pumpkins on display (note the skipjack-shaped eyes!) at OysterFest at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum last weekend.

Looking forward to seeing our friends on Sigsbee this weekend! Come to Chestertown and go sailing on the mighty Sigsbee.

Exciting news! The Living Classrooms skipjack SIGSBEE will join the fleet for both sails on Saturday. SIGSBEE's shallow draft gives her free rein of the Chester River, making her an ideal platform for viewing the Tall Ships. Tickets are $35 and these are the only remaining Downrigging sailing tickets with the exception of six Sunday tickets on AJ MEERWALD.

We are so excited to be part of Sultana’s Downrigging Festival that we couldn’t wait! Hope to see everyone in Chestertown!

Yesterday the skipjack IDA MAY became the first vessel in the Downrigging Fleet to arrive in Chestertown. She will be followed today by PATHFINDER. Things pick up considerably on Wednesday with the arrival of KALMAR NYCKEL, COASTAL QUEEN, and BLACK WATCH. Thursday will be even busier as AJ MEERWALD, BLOODHOUND, LADY MARYLAND, LYNX, MARYLAND DOVE, PRIDE OF BALTIMORE II, and SIGSBEE arrive.
