About AMER: AMER (American Muslim Empowerment Resources) is a nonprofit organization aimed at protecting children and empowering parents in the foster care system. AMER provides services and preventative resources, family judicial advocacy, and legislative initiatives for children and families in need.
AMER is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for a Chief Administrator role. Priority will be given to those who have track record of success in moving mission-driven organizations to the βnext levelβ of success and growth.
Qualifications:
A masterβs degree in a human behavioral science, or in another major where 25% of the course credits earned toward the degree are in human behavioral sciences, business administration, or public administration from an accredited college.
At least 2 years of experience in an agency or child caring institution with at least 1 year of management capacity.
High level of personal integrity with a deep commitment to transparency, accountability, collaboration, teamwork, cultural competency and social justice.
Must be an independent self-starter capable of managing and prioritizing multiple projects and priorities.
Must be able to assist multiple individuals of various levels within AMER with diverse needs and problems simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, editing and proofreading skills required.
Ability to use and apply various techniques for project management, policy analysis, and statistical analysis.
Must be proficient in Excel, Power Point and Word.
Must have high degree of professionalism when interacting with internal and external clients.
Experience developing and implementing legislative and advocacy campaigns, preferably at the state or local levels.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
Manage the day-to-day responsibilities for the overall administration of a child-placing agency and assure the care, safety, and protection of the children and families served once agency is established.
Develop, implement, and execute written policies, procedures, and programs pertaining to the establishment of the AMER agency by following guidelines set forth by MDHHS.
Assess and address needs/topics of concern including learning and advising on technical issues for the Board to review.
Implement legislative and advocacy campaigns as requested by the Board.
Use and apply various strategies and techniques of project management, policy analysis, and statistical analysis to expand and ensure sustainability of AMER.
Develop and solicit input around organizational operations, external developments and strategic challenges for AMER.
Produce clear and concise annual work plans, submit sufficient data and information, and make recommendations to the Board on various projects/programs.
