Today, we also celebrated a very special day! Cornelia B., one of our very first Explorers, celebrated her 16th birthday with us. It has been amazing watching her grow within the program, and we are proud to celebrate this milestone with her. Happy 16th Birthday, Cornelia! Wishing you an amazing year ahead!

Today, the Explorers visited the site of the upcoming Spirit Festival to familiarize themselves with the location and prepare for the event. We’re excited and looking forward to helping make this year’s festival a safe and successful experience for everyone!

Tonight, the Dearborn Heights Police Explorers had a great time attending the 3rd Annual Family Fun Night at Annapolis High School!

Our Explorers enjoyed being part of an amazing community event filled with games, activities, food, arts & crafts, open swimming, and family fun for everyone. It was great seeing so many families come together and support such a positive event for the community.

Tonight, our Explorers received a refresher on traffic stops, focusing on proper procedures, officer safety, and effective communication during real-world scenarios.

Tonight at our Explorer meeting, we continued our training with Part 2 of negotiations alongside Captain Pawlus. Explorers worked through realistic scenarios and real-life situations, building critical communication skills and learning how to handle high-pressure interactions.

⚡️ TASER TASER TASER ⚡️

Today, the Dearborn Heights Police Explorers got hands-on training with the TASER 10, the newest in TASER technology!

A huge thank you to Sgt. Campbell and Sgt. Suggs for leading an outstanding, high-level training session. We were also honored to have City Council Chair Hassan Ahmad, who serves as an Explorer advisor, on hand supporting our program.

Explorers not only learned the fundamentals and safety behind TASER deployment, but also got to experience the latest VR training technology, bringing real-life scenarios to life in a controlled environment.

The team had a blast while gaining valuable, real-world knowledge and skills that continue to prepare them for the future.

Today, our Explorers teamed up with the Crestwood Amity Club to spend meaningful time with the residents at Optalis Health & Rehabilitation of Dearborn Heights.

From conversations and smiles to simply being present, it was a great reminder that community service is about connection and compassion. Thank you to everyone involved for making this visit special—we look forward to many more moments like this.

Today, our Explorers had the opportunity to take part in Shop with a Cop alongside the Dearborn Heights Police Department at Target. It was a great event filled with smiles, connection, and plenty of fun shopping. We were honored to have Mayor Mo Baydoun and Chief Ahmed Haidar in attendance, showing their continued support for our youth and community.
