Congratulations to Fordson High's auto tech program and teacher Tarik Algharabli. They received two grants, totaling nearly $100,000, which will help pay for new equipment, tools, and student trips for career exploration.

Student leaders met with Superintendent Mike Esseily today for their first Superintendent's Student Advisory Committee (SSAC) meeting. The SSAC meets monthly with the superintendent to discuss district issues.

On Tuesday, team leaders from Dearborn High and Fordson football joined Detroit Lions defensive lineman Tyler Lacy at the ACCESS Community Health and Research Center right here in Dearborn. The visit was held as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the NFL’s Crucial Catch initiative, a partnership with the American Cancer Society focused on early detection and cancer prevention.
Our players spent the afternoon sitting down with cancer survivors and local healthcare providers, listening to their stories and working side-by-side to assemble care packages for current breast cancer patients in our community.
Huge thanks to everyone at ACCESS, the Detroit Lions, and the American Cancer Society for inviting our leaders to be part of such a meaningful afternoon.

New breakfast option incoming! Students at Edsel Ford High sampled a trio of potential breakfast meals today, compliments to the chef! This is National School Lunch Week.

If the 2026 bond is approved, there are several ways that the district will be accountable for how the money is handled and the work is done.

Community input for the bond has unofficially started! After feedback from the Salina community, the district has updated the concept for the addition to turn Salina Elementary into a PK-8 building if the 2026 transformational bond is passed. The new design better protects existing Green Schoolyards playgrounds and addresses other concerns.
(Officially community input will still be held if the bond passes.)

Little ghouls and goblins are invited to Trunk or Treat at Edsel Ford High School. Admission is free to the event on Friday, Oct. 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. Any purchases support UNICEF and children in need.

Maples Elementary is planning a special 25th Anniversary Celebration for its beloved Maples Arabic Music Ensemble. Former drummers and singers, current and former school staff, and other community members are invited to attend!
The event is set for Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.
Former drummers are invited to participate in a large drum circle!
