UPDATED EVACUATION ZONES - TEXAS RIDGE FIRE

As of 1200 on July 19, 2024, all Level 1 and 2 Evacuation zones for the Texas Ridge Fire have been lifted. Level 3 Evacuation zones have slightly changed from what was previously posted on Monday, July 15. A map has been provided for reference.

Level 3 Evacuations are still in effect for the Cedar Creek Canyon area. This includes house on Parsley Dr., Linden Rd., Sister Ln., Elk Ln., and parts of Cedar Ridge Rd.

Update provided from Idaho Department of Lands on 7/19/24 at 8:30 AM PT:

Size: 1,564 acres Containment: 10%

Current Situation:
Fire Operations reported containment at 10% last night, as control lines along portions of the fire are reasonably expected to stop the fire from spreading further. Yesterday, firefighters patrolled constructed fireline, addressing areas of remaining heat and improving fireline as needed. Throughout the day, helicopter-resources assisted firefighters on the-ground with bucket drops to cool areas of active fire, allowing work to occur directly on the fire’s edge. Yesterday, new fire starts within the geographic area re-committed local initial attack resources, including helicopters.

**ELK CREEK FIRE IS OUT - 7/19/2024** I spoke with the Chinook pilot this morning (very nice guy) and he confirmed this fire is OUT. Thank you to all of the firefighters for their quick response to protect our town!

UPDATE at 6:45pm: The fire has grown from 1 acre to 2 acres. Firefighting efforts continue. Please stay clear of the area to allow fire personnel room to work. AQI in Elk River currently at 52 (50 is normal).

UPDATE at 4:13pm: The firefighters and air attack are keeping the fire at the initial 1 acre. They have had the Chinook, another chopper and 2 planes fighting it. I will only update this post if there are changes.

**NEW FIRE REPORTED**

A new fire on Elk Creek was just reported. It's at an acre right now. About 10 miles out of town at mm 28 on Dent Bridge Road. 2 airplanes and 2 choppers on site.

I'll keep everyone posted as I hear more.
