A huge thank you to Long-Lewis Prattville for blessing our teachers in such a fun and refreshing way during state testing week! 🍓⚡

They stopped by Holtville Middle School with Alani energy drinks to help encourage and support our staff as they pour so much into our students each day. Small gestures like this remind our teachers that their hard work is seen and appreciated by the community.

We are incredibly grateful for partners who invest in our school and the people who make it so special. 💚

Our students have worked so hard during ACAP testing, and now it’s time to celebrate them with our Surf’s Up Block Party 🌊🐾

We’re looking for volunteers to help supervise outdoor activity stations during the celebration on Friday, April 17th. Even a short window of your time can make a big impact on the experience students have that day.

What might it mean to a student to look up and see adults showing up just to celebrate their effort?

Volunteers will help:
• Monitor activity stations
• Encourage participation and teamwork
• Support safe play
• Help keep rotations moving smoothly
• Celebrate students as they enjoy their reward time

Outdoor activities include:
kickball
basketball
ga-ga pit
volleyball
tug-of-war
soccer
and inflatables

You can choose the grade level, activity station, and timeframe that works best for you. Volunteers are welcome to serve in one slot or multiple throughout the day.

Volunteer windows are available between 8:00 AM and 2:40 PM

Please note: we are not assisting with handing out student lunches

So many of the things happening behind the scenes at HMS are made possible because parents step forward through PTSO.

Supporting classroom needs.
Encouraging students during testing week.
Helping provide items for the care closet.
Celebrating honor roll students.
Showing appreciation to teachers and staff.

These moments don’t just happen on their own. They happen because parents decide to be involved.

Officer elections for the 2026–2027 school year are Monday morning, and we would love to see new parents step into these roles and continue supporting our school community.

A Message from Our HMS PTSO President

Over the past few years, it has been such a privilege to serve Holtville Middle School through PTSO. I’ve had the opportunity to see firsthand how parent involvement makes a real difference for our students, teachers, and staff.

Through PTSO, we’ve helped provide classroom supplies, stocked the care closet for students in need, supported the ROOTS program, encouraged students during ACAP testing week, helped host the Honor Roll Breakfast, and provided appreciation lunches and treats for our teachers and staff throughout the year.

These things happen because parents choose to step in and support our school community. ❤️

As our current officers prepare to move on with our students next year, we are looking for parents who feel led to continue this work and help support the future of HMS.

Officer elections will be held Monday at 9:30 AM immediately following the Honor Roll Breakfast.

If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved, this is a meaningful place to start.

Reflections from the HMS PTSO Vice President:

When I first joined PTSO, I thought I was just signing up to help with events and pass out pizza on awards days.

What I discovered was something much bigger. This work becomes a legacy.

Over the past four years, I’ve watched how encouragement, appreciation, and support shape not just the students in the building now, but the ones who will come after them. Sometimes that looks like recognizing their hard work. Sometimes it’s helping provide supplies for teachers. Sometimes it’s something as simple as candy grams that remind students someone is thinking about them.

I’ve also gotten to know our teachers and staff personally, and their hearts are truly here for our kids. Supporting them matters.

As our current officers move on with our students next year, we’re hoping a new group of parents will step in and continue this work for HMS.

✨ HMS PTSO Needs Parent Leaders ✨

Our current PTSO officers will be moving on with their students next year, and we are looking for parents who want to help lead and support Holtville Middle School for the 2026–2027 school year.

Many of our leaders started by simply helping in classrooms or volunteering at school events… and it grew into something bigger.

We will be electing the following positions:
• President
• Vice President
• Treasurer
• Secretary
• Social Media Marketing Coordinator
