BUDGET REQUESTS FIRST. A PACKED SEPTEMBER AGENDA NEXT.
The Decatur City Council will meet at 4 p.m. today to hear from nonprofits and agencies seeking funding in the city’s proposed fiscal year budget. A council work session will follow.
Council members will preview next week’s agenda, including eight rezoning requests, a proposed $264,000 Carnegie Visual Arts Center annex, Cherry Street sewer design work, a new public access road near Point Mallard Parkway and Country Club Road, Fire & Rescue restructuring, landfill and recycling fee changes, and an amended Rock the South agreement.
The agenda also includes $357,859 in fourth-quarter budget adjustments and a proposed pay increase to recruit and retain CDL-certified Landfill and Recycling truck drivers.
Tonight’s work session is for discussion. Proposed actions are scheduled for the
Tuesday, Sept. 8, regular meeting or subsequent public hearings.
