Behind every number are people, families, and communities affected by hate.

For 2025, law enforcement agencies across the United States reported 10,881 hate crime incidents involving 13,438 victims to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

These are national reported totals, not DeKalb County statistics or a count of every incident that occurred.

During United Against Hate Week, the DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office stands with those harmed by hate and encourages our community to learn, listen, and support one another.

I enjoyed joining our DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office team for a visit with METRO South CID to share more about who we are, what we do, and how we serve DeKalb County.

We highlighted our role in prosecuting misdemeanor offenses, supporting victims, and working with community partners to promote public safety. This was a valuable opportunity to help connect the work of our office with the concerns and priorities of the community.

Thank you to METRO South CID for welcoming us and providing a space for education and conversation. I look forward to continuing to build relationships that help make DeKalb safer and stronger!

It was a solemn opportunity as the community came together shedding light on the darkness of domestic violence and the lives lost in our community.

Members of our team from the DeKalb County Solicitor-General's Office came out for the 35th Annual Candlelight Vigil hosted by In Safe Company, formerly the Women's Resource Center.'s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence In Safe Company

The message... "From Silence to Safety, One Voice at a Time."

Those attending wrote positive messages on cards to share with survivors and then joined others inside reading hundreds of names of people killed in Domestic Violence related situations.
From the unborn to seniors in their 80's, candles were lit and names and ages read... remembering victims and highlighting the work that still needs to be done to end domestic violence.

👏The 2nd Annual Youth Safe Driving Summit was such a success, and we are grateful to everyone who helped make it possible!

Nearly 250 attendees and nearly 30 resource vendors joined the DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office at Rehoboth Church in Tucker for a day of education, hands-on activities, and important conversations about safe driving!!!

Pink 🩷on Wednesdays. Purple 💜on Thursdays. Support all October long!

Throughout October, employees at the DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office are participating in Warrior Wednesdays for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Purple Thursdays for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

We wear pink to honor those facing breast cancer, celebrate survivors, and remember those we have lost. We wear purple to stand with domestic violence survivors and reaffirm our commitment to helping people find safety, support, and a path forward.

Here’s a look at our team showing support this week! We’ll keep the pink and purple going every Wednesday and Thursday throughout the month.

Whew!!! What an amazing time was had!!! The rain held off- the energy stayed high-and the 2nd Annual Youth Safe Driving Summit was a success!!!

THANK YOU to the students, parents, community partners, vendors, volunteers, elected officials, guest speakers and everyone who joined us for a day focused on helping young drivers make safer choices behind the wheel.

From hands-on activities and driving safety demonstrations to important conversations about distracted driving, responsible decision-making and roadway safety, the Summit gave teens and families an opportunity to learn, engage and have a little fun along the way.

We are especially grateful to Rehoboth Church for hosting us and to every organization and individual who helped make this event possible.

The DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office remains committed to educating and empowering our young people because safer choices today can help create safer roads tomorrow.
