If you are in favor of packaged liquor sales in Meigs County please consider signing one of the petitions. If enough signatures are obtained a referendum will be added to the November 3rd Ballot.

Petitions are currently available to the public at the following locations.

A Requisition and Purchase Order were issued this week for two new playgrounds. One for the Ten Mile Park and another for the Eastview Park. We anticipate the new playgrounds to be installed by the Fall of 2026.

Due to the rainy weather forecast the “2026 Annual Spring on the Square” event has been cancelled for this Saturday 25th.

The event has been rescheduled for Saturday May 2nd. Please share this information and spread the word.

The Donate Life Flag is flying high over the Meigs County Courthouse in Decatur in honor of Donate Life Month!

Our thanks to Meigs County, TN - Government Mayor Eddie Jewell and County Clerk Janie Myers for making it happen. Janie has always been an avid supporter of organ donation throughout her years as County Clerk.

Governor Bill Lee’s visit to the Meigs County Courthouse on March 25, 2026 has been pushed back. He will now arrive at 12 noon and depart at 1 pm.

THE GOVERNOR IS COMING TO TOWN….

Governor Bill Lee is making a “Farewell Tour” to all 95 counties as his term nears an end. He will arrive at the Meigs County Courthouse around 10 am on Wednesday March 25, 2026. If you would like to say hello or maybe get your picture made with the governor then please come join us.

He is only expected to visit for one hour so don’t be late….
