In the past week, 301 children have been signed up for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library since the news of her passing, bringing the total coverage to around 5k in the communities we serve (Macon, Piatt, Moultrie, DeWitt, Shelby & Christian counties).

Consider donating to our 𝟠𝟘 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝔻𝕠𝕝𝕝𝕪 fundraiser (pinned to the top of our page & link below) and help support the program that delivers books to thousands in our area.
**$15 covers one child to receive 12 books throughout the course of a year.**
DPIL selects the books, and local United Ways pay for the books and postage to get them to our local kiddos.

The Impact Behind Every Dollar 💙

Every dollar invested through United Way of Decatur & Mid-Illinois has the power to create meaningful, lasting change right here in our community.

Through a rigorous, volunteer-led investment process, United Way works to identify and support programs that are effective, efficient, and making a measurable difference in the lives of our neighbors. Because when our community invests together, every dollar should have a purpose—and every investment should create impact.

One example is the senior fitness programs at Scovill Activity Center and the DISC. These programs do more than encourage movement. They help older adults build confidence, stay active, connect with others, and maintain a sense of independence—all in a welcoming and supportive environment.

One regular participant shared: "I love having this class as an option because I don't get to move like this in other classes, and it feels so good."

It’s more than funding a fitness class. It’s helping seniors stay active. It’s creating connection and community. It’s giving people opportunities to feel stronger, healthier, and supported.

Because when we invest together, we strengthen individuals, build resilient communities, and create opportunities that last a lifetime.
