On Monday, the new information desk outside of the license commissioner’s office on the second floor of the Morgan County courthouse began serving the public. Residents needing tag renewals, titles, vehicle registration, manufactured home decals, handicap parking placards, hunting and fishing licenses and other items will now check in at the information desk, take a number, and have a seat in the lobby or waiting room near security check-in and wait to be called. There is an audio system calling the residents to the license assessment clerks’ counter. There is no longer a line to stand in, and the entrance of the license commissioner’s office has been moved. License Commissioner Kate Terry said the changes add to the convenience of doing business with her office. Terry reminds residents of the kiosks throughout the county that simplifies tag renewals. One is located in the second-floor lobby of the courthouse.
