This Halloween season, we’re shining a light on a frightening reality: child abuse affects children in every community. Behind the costumes, candy, and spooky fun, some children are facing things no child should ever have to experience.

🕸️ The facts may be scary, but awareness is powerful. By learning the signs, speaking up, and supporting children and families, we can help make our community a safer place for every child.

🧡 At the Morgan County Child Advocacy Center, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and protected.

Let’s turn awareness into action and make child abuse prevention a priority all year long!

Trauma doesn’t always show up in the way we expect. For children who have experienced abuse, it may appear as anxiety, anger, withdrawal, difficulty trusting others, or reactions that seem bigger than the situation at hand.

At the Morgan County Child Advocacy Center, we understand that healing takes time, patience, and support. Through Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), children and their caregivers can receive support in processing traumatic experiences, developing healthy coping skills, and working toward healing in a safe, supportive environment.

TF-CBT helps children understand their feelings, manage trauma-related reactions, and build skills that support their emotional well-being. Because healing isn't about forgetting what happened; it's about helping children move forward without their trauma defining their future. 💙

Every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and believed. Abuse is NEVER a child’s fault, and speaking up should never have to feel scary.

At Morgan County CAC, we believe every child deserves a voice, support, and the opportunity to heal. Together, we can create a world where children feel safe enough to speak and know that someone will listen. 🧡

Quarter Four of FY 2025-26 is a wrap! 🩵

Behind every number is a child or family who came through our doors and a team committed to making sure they felt supported every step of the way. From forensic interviews and advocacy to therapy and facility dog support, we’re grateful for the opportunity to continue providing services to children and families throughout Morgan County, free of charge.

It's time for another Facility Dog Friday! 🐾

Jezebel is our facility dog and an extra-special member of the Morgan County Child Advocacy Center family! 🐶

Jezebel has a very important job: bringing comfort, calm, and a little extra joy to children and families who walk through our doors. Whether she’s offering a quiet snuggle, a friendly distraction, or simply being a comforting presence, Jezebel reminds us that sometimes the best support comes with four paws and a wagging tail. 🐾

We’re so grateful for all the love and comfort Jezebel brings to the CAC each day!
