🇺🇸 Happy Flag Day!

Today we honor the American flag and the values it represents—freedom, unity, and the sacrifices of those who have served our nation. On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States.

Take a moment today to proudly display your flag and reflect on the principles that bring us together as Americans.

Morgan County is getting ready to welcome thousands of visitors for one of the largest events ever hosted in our area!

Expect increased traffic and activity throughout the county beginning later this week.

We're excited to see an event of this size bring visitors, entertainment, and economic impact to Decatur and Morgan County.

Over the next several days, Morgan County EMA and our public safety partners will be sharing:

🚗 Traffic updates
☀️ Weather information
🎟️ Ticket scam awareness
🎒 Venue rules and permitted items
🚑 Public safety information
ℹ️ Event updates

As this is the first year hosting Rock the South at this location, we know there may be a few bumps along the way. We encourage both positive and constructive feedback as we work with our partners to make future events even better.

👍 Follow Morgan County EMA and other official public safety channels throughout the week for the latest information.

Let's work together to make Rock the South safe, successful, and memorable for everyone!

Summer is here, and June brings several opportunities to reflect, celebrate, and connect with our community. This month, we recognize Flag Day on June 14, which commemorates the adoption of the United States flag by the Continental Congress in 1777. It's a day to honor the flag and what it represents—freedom, unity, and the sacrifices made by those who serve our nation.

We also celebrate Father's Day, honoring the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who guide, support, and inspire their families and communities every day.

As always, our volunteers continue training and serving throughout the month. Be sure to check out our June calendar for upcoming events and reminders, and if you've ever thought about volunteering, we'd love to see you at one of our Thursday night meetings or training sessions.

Thank you for supporting MTVFR, and we wish everyone a safe and enjoyable June!
