⚠️ STORM RECOVERY RESOURCES FOR ILLINOIS RESIDENTS ⚠️

If you experienced food loss, power outages, property damage, or agricultural losses from recent storms, the following resources may be available:

🍎 SNAP BENEFIT REPLACEMENT
Current Illinois SNAP recipients may qualify for replacement benefits if:
• A power outage lasted more than 4 hours, or
• Food purchased with SNAP benefits was destroyed.

⏳ Applications must be submitted within 10 days of the loss.

To apply:
1️⃣ Complete the IDHS Request for Replacement of Food Purchased with SNAP Benefits form:

Farmers experiencing storm-related agricultural losses should contact the USDA Farm Service Agency BEFORE making repairs. Certain assistance programs require damage to be documented prior to repair work.

FEMA and SBA disaster assistance programs do not require repairs to wait for an application. However, assistance is only available when both a State Disaster Proclamation and a Federal Disaster Declaration are approved.

Hey Yall, I think we caught a break today!

I’m not gloating or complaining! I am thankful! Storm fatigue and anxiety are real…myself, I am sure suffering from serious storm fatigue.

Prayers with everyone to the south and east of us. They were on high alert and possible tornadoes.

Be ready for excessive rain today along with high winds, possible tornadoes, hail. In other words…all hazards are on the table.

From the NWS at 1015 am: The line of storms moving across the Mississippi River now will start to move into Macon County between 12 and 1pm. Unsure of the severe potential with it...at this point it appears low with extensive cloud cover limiting our daytime heating.

We are under a FLOOD WATCH from 7 am this morning until late tonight. Flooding in urban and low lying areasis possible 1-1.5 inches some could see locally higher amounts

Local Media
Everbridge Notification System (Macon County local alerts)
Outdoor Warning System for those who are outdoors. Remember that there is not total coverage by sirens. Have other methods active.

I know we are all seriously suffering from storm fatigue and some are experiencing storm anxiety but Severe Weather is back on the table.

Know your shelter locations wherever you are
Take immediate action when warnings are issued

Heavy rain looks to result in 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rainfall across central and southeast IL Sunday morning through Sunday evening, with locally higher amounts possible. Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible mainly in the afternoon and evening, especially along and south of I-72. Damaging wind and heavy rain are the main threats with thunderstorms, although a few tornadoes may develop as well, with a few instances of hail up to around 1 inch diameter.
