August 1 - The election results are in. My opponent has won - but I feel fine. I am delighted that over a third of a million Georgians voted for me and for the message that campaign contributions should not come from special interests and lobbyists.

My volunteer campaign staff was fabulous- and I am so very humbled to realize that whatever my campaign achieved I could not have done it without the volunteers and without the voters of Georgia who listened to our message. My heartfelt thanks to the voters and to the volunteers and to my family - daughters Samantha and Rose, and my wife, Gail.
