🌱✨ Community in Action! ✨🌱

This morning, our juveniles rolled up their sleeves and got to work revamping a local community garden💪🌼 From pulling weeds to refreshing garden beds, they showed teamwork, responsibility, and pride in giving back.

Did you know?
🌿 Community gardens can increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables in neighborhoods with limited options.
🌿 Gardening has been shown to reduce stress and improve mental well-being.
🌿 Youth who participate in community service are more likely to build positive life skills and stronger connections to their community.

We are proud of these young individuals for choosing growth, both in the garden and within themselves. 🌻

This afternoon, we participated in an update call with the National Weather Service. The forecast continues to call for rain throughout the day tomorrow (Friday), with high confidence that the rain will transition to sleet and ice in the evening.

To help ensure employees can travel safely before conditions deteriorate, Wise County governmental offices will close at NOON tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 23.

County dumpsites will be closed on Saturday.

Please take precautions ahead of the incoming winter weather, and follow Wise County Office of Emergency Management for continued updates and information.

We now accept clean, gently used and appropriate clothes to provide for our juveniles in need 👚👕👖🩳

Our space is limited but we need all adult sizes for males and females

Today, some of our juveniles participated in the making of thanksgiving baskets to give out to our community. Each basket contained all the necessary items to cook a full thanksgiving meal 🍂🦃

⭐️We are thankful for the community that helped through donations, our Juvenile Probation Officers that delivered the baskets to the families and to the organization We Are Our Brothers Keeper for allowing us to be a part of their mission and be able to help our community and neighboring counties! ⭐️

Great things are happening in Wise and Jack County and we are excited to be a part of it! 🙂
