I am thrilled to nominate The Diner for the JB’s Community Award.🍽️❤️
The Diner isn't just a place to grab a bite; it’s a true family restaurant in every sense of the word. The second you walk through the door, you’re greeted like an old friend. Everyone knows everyone by name, and the staff remembers what you like and exactly how you like it—without fail. They operate on a level of trust you just don't see anymore; if you happen to forget your cash, they’ll simply write your name down (though none of us should make a habit of it!).
Their commitment to our town goes far beyond the dining room:
Community Fundraisers: They regularly partner with the local motorcycle club to drive support for crucial local causes.
Resilience: After facing a devastating fire, their ability to fully rebuild and come back stronger than ever was nothing short of extraordinary.
The Local Hub: It’s the ultimate gathering spot to catch up on local news, cheer on school sports, and share a bit of friendly neighborhood gossip.
Lifetime Loyalty: When you become family here, you stay family. It’s not uncommon to see half the staff attending the funeral of a long-time regular to pay their respects.
At the heart of it all is Nicki, who has been a pillar of our community for years. She has provided reliable employment to generations of locals—often hiring parents and later giving their kids their very first jobs.
The Diner represents the absolute best of our community spirit, generosity, and heart. They deserve this recognition more than anyone!
