Ice Update 1-16-26:

Wanted to give another update as we are seeing some changes. The high winds are tearing up the ice. We now have open water off the Campers Point Ramp and along the shoreline. Holes are opening up at various places even with the cooler weather.
It is not safe for ice fishing at this time.
Be safe!

This may be the last ice update for a while.

Ice Update 1-15-26:

The warm weather and wind has been hard on the ice. The edges/shorelines are thin but the ice is still overall 4-5". However, puddles form on the top and re-freeze. Some ridges and possible open water.
We have a HUT slipping into the ice at the south end.
At the time of this post, it is snowing. I would use extreme caution if you want to fish.

Happy New Year!
Ice Update 12-31-25:
The Game is on! There is 4.5" just off the boat ramp at Campers Point. I spoke with some folks fishing at Rattlesnake Point and it was reported at 5". They caught 2 pike so far today. Keep in mind, both of these areas are close to the western shore and I do not know if it is thinner farther out in the middle of the lake. The south end most likely has at least 5" or more. The entire lake is frozen, but the north end is most likely not safe at this time. There is some thawing and refreezing happening every day, but it is below freezing 15 hours a day, causing the ice to grow daily even if it is growing slowly. Use caution if you come to fish. The lake froze in sections this year, so there are lots of cracks and ridges and various thickness of ice. Freezing and thawing, too. Be safe!

Ice Update 12-26-25:
Hope you had a nice Christmas. Most of the lake has a ice covering over it now. It is thawing and refreezing daily and only 1-2" thick. It may slowly thicken as the weeks go by. The south end may still have 3-4 inches. Use caution if you come fish. Remember, safe ice is 4" plus.
Happy New year!

Ice Update 12-16-25:
The cold snap over the weekend (0 to -1 degrees) covered much of the reservoir in a THIN layer of ice - maybe 1-2". The south end up to Crappie Point added a little thickness - maybe 2-4". However, with the warm weather this week as well as predicted wind and rain, we will see if it lasts. Pools of water were seen on the ice yesterday. Not yet, but another cold snap in the future may get us into ice fishing season.
Use extreme caution if you go out anywhere on the ice. It is a little cooler here than everywhere around us, so snow still covers the ground (currently, at time of post, it is mid 40's).
The Marina is scheduled to be open the second weekend of January- watch their page for updated information.
