Today, Deckerville Fire Department trained along with Delaware Fire Department with the new grain rescue coffers we both received. Thank you Sanilac County Farm Bureau!
Today Sanilac County Farm Bureau hosted a grain bin safety training for local fire departments thanks to the Grain Bin Safety Awareness and Rescue Program, an innovative partnership grant program between the Michigan Foundation for Agriculture and ITC. We were able to train over 20 local firefighters and members from four departments in grain flow rescue. Along with the training, grant funds were used to provide rescue coffers to Deckerville Fire Department and Delaware Township Fire Department. We like to give special thanks to SATRA for facilitating the training for us and Stoutenburg Farms for lending the grain for the rescue simulator.
