The Town of Dedham has declared a Snow Emergency effective at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 2, 2014 through until Saturday, January 4, 201 at 8:00 A.M.

With the Snow Emergency declared, the Town’s Winter Parking Regulations are now in effect. Residents can receive up to the minute reports on the conditions associated with the current snow storm by following the local television stations of 4, 5, 7 and 25. Information can also be heard on WBZ radio, Channel 1030 on the AM Dial.

Snow is expected to continue throughout the day today and to intensify after 6:00 P.M. tonight and last through tomorrow afternoon. Predictions are for significant accumulations to occur during the overnight hours. Town DPW crews will be working throughout the storm to keep roads open but slippery conditions will exist and heavy snow accumulations may make some road travel particularly treacherous.

The Town advises residents with vehicles to keep them off the road if possible but that any vehicles that must be parked on the side of the road are restricted to the odd house numbered side of the road. There will be no parking on sidewalks. Violators of these restrictions are subject to being towed at the owner’s expense.
