We hope you can join us for our upcoming Caucus on Monday, March 2nd to elect delegates and alternates to represent Dedham at the 2026 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention! The caucus will be held in person at 6:15 pm at the Endicott Estate, 565 East Street. Doors will open at 5:45pm and registration for those interested in participating in the caucus will close at 6:30pm.
The Dedham caucus offers local Democrats a chance to stand with like-minded neighbors, lift up shared values of equality, justice, and opportunity, and connect their voices directly to decisions made on the convention floor. Serving as a delegate is a concrete way for citizens to help shape the party’s priorities and hold Democratic leaders accountable.
The caucus is open to all registered and pre-registered (under 18 years old) Democrats in Dedham, and residents may enroll as Democrats on-site at the caucus. Dedham can elect 17 delegates and 4 alternates to attend the Convention, and the only requirements for serving as a delegate are being a registered Democrat living in Dedham and being available to attend the Convention in May.
The elected delegation will have balanced gender representation. The state party also offers add-on delegate seats to help ensure the convention delegation reflects the diversity of the Commonwealth, including delegates from disability communities, underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, veterans, youth, and LGBTQ+ Democrats. Details about applying as an “add-on” delegate will be provided at the caucus.
This year’s Massachusetts Democratic State Convention will be held Friday and Saturday, May 29 and 30, at the DCU Center in Worcester. At the convention, thousands of delegates from across the Commonwealth will cast votes that determine which candidates receive the party’s endorsement for the primary ballot.
The convention will also be a statewide organizing hub, bringing Democrats together to focus on issues like affordable housing, education, health care, workers’ rights, and protecting democracy, and to build momentum heading into the 2026 election cycle. Anticipated speeches from top Democratic leaders include Senator Warren, as well as Governor Healey and Lieutenant Governor Driscoll.
