In 2021 our data indicated the loss equated to 10 school buses. Distressingly, these numbers are on the rise. Our most recent data now indicates we lose the equivalent of 11 school buses full of children to fatal unintentional drownings each year in the US. The CDC reports that for every 1 fatal child drowning, another 7-8 are seen in emergency departments for non-fatal drowning.
