The Morgan Scott Project for Cooperative Christian Concerns provides a common, multi-denominational base for churches, agencies, and individuals to identify the problems of and provide the solutions for people in peril in Morgan & Scott Counties. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Morgan-Scott Project develops activities, provides training, offers assistance, a

nd gives support to help break the cycle of poverty and enable people to help themselves. When necessary, temporary emergency aid is provided as a means of opening doors and finding the base causes of need for those we help. The Project’s primary goal is two-fold:

Provide support that will bring positive, long range solutions

Ensure every effort is made to protect the dignity, self respect, and personal worth of the people served.

A reminder that we are still taking calls to get signed up for our Good Earth Program which provides seeds, onion sets, tomato plants, cabbage plants, and fertilizer to those who are planning to have a garden.
Distribution in Morgan County will be this Friday beginning at 10am at our location in Deer Lodge (1022 Old Deer Lodge Pike).
Scott County residents will get theirs this Saturday morning at the Farmer's Market on Scott High Drive in Huntsville beginning at 10am.
Call 423/965-3131 to get signed up...and please don't leave a message if you don't get an answer, call until you reach a live person.

Beginning tomorrow - March 31st - we begin taking appointments for the Good Earth Program. Seeds, some plants, and fertilizer will be given out at the Morgan Scott Project in Deer Lodge for Morgan County residents on Friday, April 10th beginning at 10am. Scott County residents will receive theirs on Saturday, April 11thin front of the Farmer's Market on Scott High Drive also beginning at 10am. Please call 423/965-3131 for an appointment. Please do not leave a message but continue to call until you get to speak with an associate to set your appointment.

On Friday-Saturday (March 20-21) 16 youth from MSP’s Youth 4 Service (Y4S) went to the Camp in Community Headquarters in Maryville and helped with spring cleaning and organizing for this coming summer’s camps, including at MSP on July 6-10. Camp in the Community has been a wonderful blessing for our community for more than a decade and we praise God for our amazing Y4S youth all of whom are camp participants!

So thankful for the 19 youth from MSP’s Youth for Service gathered last Saturday and went Christmas shopping for MSP’s Christmas gift distribution, then sang Christmas Carols in the Deer Lodge Cimmunity, then prepared Christmas cards for Morgan County inmates - these awesome youth are a tremendous blessing!
