Lawful. Commutation of sentences is a carefully planned corrective process ⚖️
BREAKING: A federal judge knocks the wind out of celebrating MAGA supporters by banning several prominent insurrectionists from entering Washington, D.C. despite Donald Trump's commutations.
Victory just turned to ash in their mouths...
Federal Judge Amit Meht has ruled that Stewart Rhodes, leader of the far-right militia Oath Keepers, and seven other Capitol rioters are forbidden from stepping foot in D.C. "as a condition of their release from prison."
The only way that they will be allowed to enter the city is with express permission granted by a court.
All of these individuals had their sentences commuted by Trump but were not pardoned.
The judge's decision comes in the wake of a visit that Rhodes made to D.C. to see a lawmaker.
"I’m only guilty of opposing those who are destroying the country," a defiant Rhodes said. "We stood up for our country because we knew the election was stolen. Biden did not get 81 million votes."
These traitors are an unrepentant, active threat to to American democracy. The least we can do is keep them away from the heart of our government.
