We recently had two guinea pigs brought into our shelter. The white and black one was found abandoned at a local park. The tricolored one was surrendered to the shelter. We are unsure if they are male or female. We are hoping to find them a home ASAP. If you or someone you know is interested please swing by the shelter today. Adoption fee is only $10. They did not come in together so they will not be able to be together if both adopted by the same person.

CALLING ALL VENDORS!!!!
We are looking for vendors for our Woofstock event that is just around the corner. Woofstock will take place at Dow Park on September 26th from 2-7pm. There will be several other local animal shelter and rescue groups present and we are looking to fill around 70 vendor spots. If you are a vendor that's interested or if you have already joined us for one of our events in the past please come by the shelter and sign up today! Vendor spots are only $25 and they will FILL UP FAST. We can only do sign ups in person at the shelter. We are located at 4221 Luella Ave, in Deer Park. We may have gone a little overboard trying to make a viral video for Woofstock. 😂
There were TikTok trends.
There was dancing.
There was a very questionable performance by the Barkstreet Boys. 🎤🐶
But after all that, we realized something…
We really don’t need a viral video. We just need to tell people there are DOGS. 🐶❤️

And not just any dogs — amazing dogs looking for their forever homes. 🏡🐾

Yesterday marked the first day of school, but these cool cats are still dreaming of summer snooze-fests and sunny windowsill naps. Safe to say... they aren't feline the early morning alarms! 😴⏰

Milo has already survived the hardest chapter of his life. Now we're hoping someone will help him write the happiest one.

When Milo first came to us, it was clear that life had not been kind to him. He had been neglected for far too long, and the condition he was in told a story no dog should ever have to live. Despite everything he had been through, Milo never gave up. When we were able to pull him from that horrible situation we knew we had to make sure we changed his life story.

Over the past several weeks, our staff has showered him with love, patience, good meals, medical care, and the kindness he should have known all along. Just look at him now—he's beginning to shine again. Not because he's finally healthy, but because he finally knows what it feels like to be cared for.

Milo is a senior mixed-breed dog, and while he may have a little gray on his face, his heart is overflowing with love to give. He doesn't need a mansion or a perfect life. He simply needs someone who will let him spend his golden years knowing he is safe, wanted, and loved. Every dog deserves a happy life. Milo has waited his whole life for his. Could you be the person who gives this sweet old boy the forever home he's always deserved?
