With sadness we share the passing of one of our former members. Mike Alexander not only served as a firefighter for us, but also held the role of secretary/treasurer and also Fire Inspector for us for some years. Along with firefighter duties, he was also a first responder for many years of service with our Deer Park First Responder group. Thank you Mike for your time served, we have it from here!

The events over but our Thank Yous don't end.

Agronomy.

Joe is a former member of our department and one heck of a green thumb. Always wanting to know how and why things work is what you want in an agronomist. And to pass on his knowledge from public speaking to Podcasts be sure to check him out.

Have you driven down County Road T and have seen the giant pumpkins growing, or purchased some of their delicious Sweet Corn. Joe is not only trying to help farmers out, and get better crops and find better practices to keep fields healthy, But is growing some amazing veggies for everyone to enjoy and sell at their families road side stand.

The Weekend is over and the Deer Park Celebration has come and gone. Such a fun weekend was had. Much as the Deer Park Lions Club Events and Info has stated in their Post, we can't thank everyone enough for everything. The people, our communities, and Most definitely our sponsors!

Most didn't realize that even though this year was a little different with turning it into a 2-day event! There was a big change behind the scenes to make this all happen. The Deer Park Lions Club and the Deer Park Fire Dept. worked together to what we were calling the Deer Park Event Committee. With this effort we tried to organize this event so that nobody was stepping on someone elses toes, so that we could work together to get sponsors for this event, verses both of us going out to businesses to ask for sponsorship for each of our events, the lions with their fireworks/ band, etc, and us with our tractor pull event. There were a few hiccups along the way but with anything the first time doing it, you're going to run into those.

We now have a clearer vision moving forward and hope to bring the same fun and family free event for you all again next year. With that, we again want to apologize to some of the last-minute sponsorships that came in and we have modified the poster that we had up to get those on there that may have been missed as the posters were already printed up going into this weekend.

Take note, one of the things we did as the event committee was create levels to the sponsorships, as we have seen other communities do and EVERY donation is very much appreciated, so be sure to support ALL of these businesses that have helped to support us. We are looking forward to NEXT YEAR!
