Deerfield Fire Department

Deerfield Fire Department Deerfield Fire Department is an all-volunteer not-for-profit fire protection association that serves Deerfield and the surrounding rural areas.

We also assist other emergency services entities as the need arises. We are continually seeking individuals with a desire to serve their community. A fire company is much more than simply responding to fires and other emergencies. We need volunteers willing to help maintain trucks and equipment, assist with administration and finances, organize fundraising and public education events, recruiting,

grant writing. We need people willing to come to emergency scenes and help with non-firefighting duties such as handing out bottles of water, traffic control, changing SCBA tanks, and more. If you want to help us serve our community and those who ask for our help, we can probably find a role for you. Email us or contact us through Facebook for more information.

Deerfield had a busy couple of days. Sunday we ran a barn fire fully engulfed when call came in. Thanks to Compton Junction fire for tanker/pumper support.
Total loss no injuries.
Monday morning was a report of a garage fire with home owner trying to extinguish. Quick call to 911 by the homeowner helped minimize the damage but still significant.
Monday afternoon was a skidsteer fire.
Mutual aid provided by Bronaugh and Nevada for tanker support and personnel. Thank you to the volunteers and Nevada fire. Also thanks to Vernon county ambulance for rehab response.
Remember it's better to call the fire department early to have them on the way and not need them then the alternative.

Amazing!! The Vernon County Pullers Association was able to present $5000 to each rural fire department (Milo, Deerfield, Bronaugh, Compton Junction and Sheldon) that partnered with us for the Vernon County Truck and Tractor Pull.
Kris Sisseck, Deerfield Fire Dept, stated this is the most money that has ever been raised from an event for their department.
The departments stated the money will be used for gear (gear for one firefighter is $5000), maintenance, equipment and training.
Thank you to all who sponsored, attended, worked, shared the event…helped in any way! It’s great to come together as a community to help one another.
