Help us keep all our four-legged friends safe!

The Working Dog Foundation is frequently at the Fairgrounds training their incredible K9s to handle every kind of situation. As the weather warms up, we’ve noticed more neighbors out enjoying the grounds with their pets. However, to keep everyone safe—especially during active training sessions—we need your help!

Keep an eye out for our new signs: "K9 Training In Progress."

If you see these signs posted, we kindly ask that you do not bring your pets onto the Fairgrounds until the session is over. This ensures a focused environment for the working dogs and safety for your own furry companions.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our community (and its paws!) safe.

On Tuesday June 24, 2025 at 8:33 p.m., Rockingham County Sheriff's Dispatch learned of a shooting that had occurred at Hampton Beach. Police obtained a description of a vehicle that the shooting suspect may have left the scene in, and shortly after, officers with the Epping Police Department saw the vehicle traveling westbound along Route 101 in Epping. NHSP Troopers and Epping officers attempted to conduct a felony stop, but the driver failed to stop and a pursuit began.

Luckily a Brentwood officer was able to rapidly catch up to the fleeing vehicle which maintained a high rate of travel Westbound on Route 101 from Epping to Candia. At which point the suspect and Brentwood officer were separated by a distance from other officers. The suspect then took Exit 3 in Candia where Deerfield Officer St. Onge joined the Brentwood officer in the pursuit. The suspect continued north towards Deerfield where Deerfield Officer Burroughs successfully deployed a tire deflation device. The suspect continued at a diminished speed into Deerfield where he attempted to brake check the Brentwood officer, a minor collision occurred and the driver and passenger subsequently bailed out. Officer St. Onge assisted Brentwood Sgt. Spitalere in detaining the passenger while NHSP Troopers, Epping, Raymond, Candia, and Auburn officers swiftly began setting up a perimeter. They were later joined by a Rockingham County Sheriff’s Deputy K9 and Drone, Auburn K9, Nottingham Drone, and Massachusetts State Police Air Wing.

Over the next hour New Hampshire State Police and multiple other agencies assisted in searching the area. Eventually the suspect surrendered to officers without incident. We would like to thank the New Hampshire State Police, Massachusetts State Police, Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, Auburn Police Department, Brentwood Police Department, Candia Police Department, Epping Police Department, Nottingham Police Department, and Raymond Police Department for their assistance in safely ending this incident.
