We are in desperate need of donations of empty Xerox boxes, or Amazon boxes of similar size, for sorting books for the library book sale. A donation of 1 box up to as many as you have would be great! You can drop them off at the library during business hours. Thanks!

Thank you all once again for another successful pie sale! We had a great variety of pies and baked goods to choose from this year. Thanks to all who baked, bought and stopped by the library for conversation. Congratulations to Barbara Mathews for winning the holiday wreath. Thank you, Dorise Alexander, for donating such a beautiful wreath!

The annual Friends of the Library Pie Sale will be held Saturday, November 22nd from 9 -11 am. Many hands make light work, and we are always welcoming new bakers to the sale. Do you like to bake? Then please join this wonderful community event! Apple, blueberry, and pecan are always top sellers, but you can bake any pie of your choice. If you would like to donate your pie, stop by the library in person or call 603-463-7187 to sign up with your name and the type of pie you plan to bake. If pies are not your specialty, bread, rolls, and other baked goods are also welcome and can be dropped off at the library starting at 8:30 the morning of the sale. Local baking businesses are welcome to donate as well, and feel free to label your pie/baked good with your contact info. The sale is one of two fundraisers for the library each year and 100% of the proceeds are used for the benefit of the library.

The ARSL Grant Review Team is delighted to report that your application for the 2025 Sustainable & Resilient New England Libraries Grant has been selected for full funding!

We are so excited to announce that we did it again!!! The Manton Foundation and ARSL have selected Philbrick-James Library to receive a grant. Please stay tuned to see what we accomplish over the next year.

We’re thrilled to announce that we are one of 55 libraries selected for the 2025 Sustainable & Resilient New England Libraries Grant, made possible through the continued support of The Manton Foundation.

These small and rural libraries across Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont will receive funding to support critical infrastructure improvements and community-centered initiatives that strengthen their ability to serve and adapt.

We're grateful to The Manton Foundation for its ongoing commitment to small and rural libraries, and we look forward to seeing the impact these 2025 projects will have across New England.

Amazing!

Our little friend Ayla stopped by, and guess what? She got her swag for reading 1000 books before Kindergarten. We are so proud of you, Ayla and wish you the very best of luck in Kindergarten next year

Bridgers official sign. We love when patrons come in and say how proud they are of Bridger (or whomever the named child is ;). Early literacy is so important). Thanks to his parents for helping him fulfill this journey, and his big brother who set such a great example!
