5 Deerfield High School students were selected to participate in Illinois Music Education Association District Festivals. To earn this recognition, students must be nominated by a school music teacher and complete a rigorous audition featuring advanced musical pieces.

DHS is in the highly competitive District 7. That competition, paired with a selective audition process, makes this accomplishment all the more prestigious for the selected students.

Chorus: Brandon Schaps-Bass 1, Blake Sherman-Tenor

Orchestra: Gabriel Biesenthal-English Horn, Max Kudlowitz-String Bass, Kevin Zhu-Cello

Participants will perform at their respective festivals in November. Select performers from the District Festivals will be named to the ILMEA State Festival in January. Congratulations to the students involved and best of luck next month!

Today is Principal Appreciation Day, and we want to take a moment to express our gratitude to our amazing principal, Dr. Will Dwyer. The hard work and dedication he puts into his job, both at school and behind the scenes, are what help make Deerfield High School and District 113 so special. Thank you for all that you do!

It was a great weekend for Warrior Athletics! Girls tennis continues to impress, claiming the Vernon Hills Sectional. They’ll look to defend their state title later this week.

Both the boys' and girls' cross country teams worked hard on the trail as they claimed their respective conference championships! Both teams head to Lake Forest this Saturday for their regional meets. The attached XC photos were taken by Ian Adler, a very talented DHS student.

Go Warriors!
