This is Elis! She is a college student from Europe doing her fun and crazy summer internship in Deering. She just checked in with the Town Hall and the Police Department. So she will be going door to door in our town. Don't be alarmed, she is very friendly. She is selling educational tools like books and apps for kids from toddler age up to high schoolers. *PRESS RELEASE*

On May 12, 2022 at 5:23pm an officer from the Deering Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for speed and driving in the middle of the roadway on Second NH Turnpike. The vehicle failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated. The vehicle being pursued turned into a resident’s driveway on Longwoods Road, at which the driver struck and killed a dog. The driver also came within close proximity to striking a young child and the homeowner in the driveway of their own home. The single male driver then fled on foot into the woods behind the residence. Multiple law enforcement officers assisted in the search and after nearly 4 hours, the search was called off. During the search, an officer was able to recognize the male suspect to be:

CAMERON BRISSETTE,
age 24 of Deering, NH.

It was also discovered that CAMERON had a suspended license and 4 electronic bench warrants.

On June 8, 2022 at approximately 5:15am, a search warrant was executed for the arrest of CAMERON. CAMERON was arrested at his residence of 2526 Second NH Turnpike in Deering, NH. The Deering Police Department was assisted by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Task Force and Bennington Police Department.
CAMERON was arrested on 17 charges from the incident on May 12, 2022 to include: Disobeying an Officer, Reckless Operation, Reckless Conduct, Failure to Report an Injury of a Dog, Resisting Arrest, Conduct After an Accident, and Operating After Suspension. While in custody, CAMERON received an additional charge of Criminal Mischief for damaging the door of a Deering Police cruiser.
CAMERON is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections awaiting arraignment.

A set of keys was turned into the police department on May 28. The keys were found on Route 149 near His Mansion.

Press Release: Line of Duty Death (LODD)

It Is with a heavy heart that Chief Roarick of the Hillsboro Police Department announces the passing of Officer Rory Bohanan.

While on duty as the School Resource Officer for the Hillsboro-Deering School District on May 10th, 2022, Officer Bohanan suffered a medical emergency.

Officer Bohanan began his lifetime of service in the Navy in 1981, serving on the USS Emory S. Land. In 1987 he joined the NH Department of Corrections and then moved into law enforcement in 1998 part-time. Officer Bohanan attended the 123rd NH Police Academy finishing 1st academically in his class.

Officer Bohanan worked for both the Henniker and Hopkinton Police Departments before becoming the School Resource Officer at Hillsboro-Deering Schools. It was in this role that Officer Bohanan exhibited his excellence and merit. Guiding students, he not only ensured their safety, but he was also a respected mentor to so many. Officer Bohanan frequently worked with the Special Olympics participating in the Torch Run year after year. Officer Bohanan was set to retire from law enforcement on June 30th.

The men and women of the Hillsboro Police Department extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, children, family, and friends during what is a difficult and painful time. We will all miss “Officer Bo” very dearly.
