Richland Township Maintenance, Defiance County Ohio Richland Township was formed in 1824 when at that time it was part of Henry County.

When the area was divided up into smaller counties in March of 1845 it became part of Defiance County.

Fruit Ridge and Hagy are back open but Snyder Road between 281 and Standley is still closed at this time due to a power line still laying in the road. The Sherriff's Department is checking again to see how soon they will get to it.

Due to today’s windstorm, multiple power poles and electrical wires are down throughout Defiance County. As a result, the following roads are currently closed:

- Fruit Ridge Rd at Hagy Rd.
- Independence Rd from Bannerschool Rd to Flory Rd.
- SR 15 at Flickinger Rd.
- Moser Rd between Allen Rd and Arps.
- Switzer Rd at Haller Rd.
- Casebeer Miller Rd between Kramer and Defiance Williams Co line Rd.
- Dohoney Rd at Blanchard Rd.
- Snyder Rd from SR 281 to Standley Rd.
- Adams Ridge Rd at Flory Rd.
- Harris Rd from Ayersville Pleasant Bend to Steinmaier Rd.
- Nagel Rd from Adams Ridge Rd to Defiance Henry Co Line.

Please avoid these areas and use alternate routes.

Road services you need to have alternative funding sources in place as part of your plan. The funds need to come from somewhere, higher sales taxes, higher gas taxes, higher liscence fees, etc...

Sorry for the short notice. Fullmer road will be closed Wednesday October 29th for a few days for crossover tile replacement at the south end of the woods between Ayersville Avenue and Standley Road. Access to the homes in the woods will be from the north end only. Repairs hopefully will go smoothly and we will be able to open the road late Thursday evening or Friday morning.

Note to Farmers: If you collect rocks out of your fields and throw them in ditches or put them around the utility poles...

PLEASE DON"T!

Take them with you or put them somewhere other than where the people who mow your ditches are going to hit them. these are a group of pics where I had found them with the mower. The pics with the rocks are of new blades with 30 hours on them. Your help would be greatly appreciated in this matter. Thanks

Here are a couple videos and a pic to show how things work when mowing with the boom mower. Both videos are done with my phone propped to get the videos and not handheld for those of you that are safety minded. The pic shows how close the deck is when doing this. (sometimes closer) The one video shows as mowing is being done all at a whopping 1 1/2 to 2 MPH. The other shows what it takes to control the deck while doing so. Yes, the deck is that responsive especially when it is 15 foot out to the outside edge of the deck.
