Thank you to the Defiance VFW Post for the generous donation to our department. We appreciate the support that the community gives to the local fire departments. This donation will be utilized to send members to various trainings to keep our members skills sharp and provide the best care to our community when we are called upon. Thank you Tinora Local Schools for loaning us a bus for our evening training. We reviewed the emergency exits on the bus and table topped a EMS scenario where the bus was involved in a motor vehicle accident.

Last evening we trained with our neighbors from the south, Highland Township Fire Department on strokes and assessing strokes put on by Mercy Health. It's opportunities like this that create great working relationships with mutual aid departments. Thank you to Ayersville Fire Department (Highland Twp. Defiance, Ohio) and Mercy Health.

The Ohio Fire Chiefs Emergency Response System was activated at approximately 12:30 AM today in response to a well explosion incident that occurred the previous day in Fulton County. Fire Chief Seibert was contacted and requested to respond to the scene to assume command, allowing the chiefs already on site to take a break. Chief Seibert arrived on scene about an hour later and, after receiving a briefing from the incident commander, took charge of the operation. During his approximately 7-hour presence on scene, Chief Seibert was in command for around 5 hours. Additionally, a tanker from South Richland was dispatched to the scene to support water shuttling operations, with two firefighters responding. Command was transferred back to Wauseon crews around 6 AM, while the tanker continued to assist with water shuttling until a specialized crew arrived to mitigate the well fire. We appreciate the collaboration between local departments and the State Planning of the Emergency Response System.
