We’re back with another Fleet Friday, continuing our series highlighting the apparatus that serve Delaware Township and the roles they play on emergency scenes.

This week, we’re featuring Tanker 1207, a 2001 Mack CX613.

Tanker 1207 plays a vital role on the fireground as the second-due apparatus for all fires, ensuring a steady and reliable water supply to support suppression operations. Especially in areas without hydrants.

This unit is powered by a Mack E7 460 engine and is equipped with a 3,200-gallon water tank, allowing it to quickly deliver large amounts of water where it’s needed most. With 617,000 miles currently on the truck, it has certainly proven its dedication and service to our community.

With the high mileage on this apparatus, maintenance and repair needs continue to increase. Consistent funding from our fire levy is a critical component in ensuring we can keep Tanker 1207 and the rest of our fleet in service while meeting DOT and NFPA standards. These investments help ensure our equipment remains safe, reliable, and ready to respond when our community needs it most.

Stay tuned as Fleet Friday continues and we showcase more of the equipment that helps keep Delaware Township safe.

It’s week two of our new Fleet Friday series, where we continue highlighting the apparatus that serve Delaware Township and the roles they play on emergency scenes.

This week, we’re featuring Engine 1203, our 1988 open-cab Pierce Lance.

Engine 1203 serves as our first-due engine for all structure fires, making it a critical piece of our fire suppression operations. When a call comes in, this is the truck that gets on scene first and sets the tone for the entire incident.

Equipped with a 1,000-gallon water tank and a 1500 GPM waterous pump, Engine 1203 is built to deliver the water needed for aggressive fire attack. It’s powered by a Big Cam NTC-350 Cummins engine, known for its durability and performance.

Despite its age, Engine 1203 continues to be a essential part of our fleet, responding when our community needs it most.

Stay tuned as Fleet Friday continues and we showcase more of the equipment that helps keep Delaware Township safe.

We’re excited to introduce something new at Delaware Township Fire Department, known as Fleet Friday. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting the apparatus that serve our community and the roles they play on emergency scenes.

Kicking off our first Fleet Friday is one of our workhorses: Engine 1201, a 1992 International 4900.

Built tough and ready to respond, this engine is powered by a DT466 engine and equipped with a 1500 GPM Hale pump. It carries 1,000 gallons of water along with a 30-gallon foam tank, giving crews the capability to handle a wide range of incidents efficiently.

Engine 1201 serves as the first-due engine for all motor vehicle accidents, ensuring a effective response when every second counts. It also operates as the second-due engine for structure fires, providing critical support on the fireground.

Like many older apparatus, Engine 1201 does come with increasing costs of repairs and maintenance. Despite this, it continues to remain a valuable asset to our department and the community we serve.

Stay tuned as Fleet Fridays continue and we showcase more of the equipment that helps keep Delaware Township safe.
