Yesterday, I performed my very first bilingual wedding ceremony! 💍

I don't speak or understand Spanish, but I can read it well enough to follow along. This sweet couple wanted to make things official before traveling abroad for a more traditional ceremony.

They had looked into local notary services and were quoted upwards of $550… for a simple exchange of vows and a stamp.

When I told them the Library has a notary who could perform the ceremony FOR FREE, they were shocked and absolutely elated. They insisted on paying “something,” and since they felt so strongly about it, they made a donation to our Friends group instead.

And honestly, this is one of my favorite things about libraries. You never quite know what someone's going to walk through the doors needing. ❤️

Bottom line: The Library offers free notary services to everyone! Just call ahead to make sure a notary is on staff that day.
