Dear Walton Republicans,
David Jolly left the Republican Party, criticized the party for years on television, and registered as a Democrat to run for governor. He is not a "Republican-lite" candidate; he is running on a clear Democratic platform.
His specific proposals include:
- Guns: Supports an assault-weapons ban, licensing, registration, liability insurance, and background checks covering private and family transfers.
- Abortion: Supports codifying the Roe v. Wade framework into Florida state law.
- Immigration: Proposes suspending 287(g) agreements with ICE under specific conditions and allowing undocumented immigrants without separate criminal offenses to remain.
- Schools: Advocates for increased public school spending and tighter restrictions on voucher programs.
- Insurance: Proposes a catastrophic-fund plan shifting hurricane risk from the private market to the state, which an FSU analysis warns could lead to statewide financial assessments for taxpayers.
- Healthcare: Supports expanding Medicaid and gender intervention for minors.
Additionally, in a recent CBS Miami interview, Jolly stated that he would welcome Kamala Harris campaigning with him in Florida and expressed that she should have won in 2024.
With the August primary concluded, the November 3 general election will determine our state's future. Please remind your contacts that Jolly is not a moderate candidate.
When engaging on social media in support of the Byron Donalds campaign, share these facts clearly. Digital engagement is a crucial tool for voter persuasion. Nearly 20% of Walton County voters are unaffiliated, and their support is valuable for our Republican nominees.
Please encourage turnout and vote on November 3 for Byron Donalds.
In Liberty,
Mary M. Howard
Chair, Walton County Republican Executive Committee
