Everyone’s closet looks different. Maybe you’ve got some clutter you’re looking to clear out. Or maybe yours is in a transition period, and you’re in need of some new styles to flesh it out.

Either way, we invite you to come out to our Gender-Affirming Clothing Swap this Tuesday, June 2nd. From 6pm-7:30pm, we’ll have a variety of donated clothes available to take home. Have some clothes to donate? Feel free to swing by the Adult Reference desk, or bring them to the swap.

How do other languages say 'library'?

In English, the word 'library' comes from the Latin 'liber', meaning book, which came from an even older root referring to parchment or the bark of trees which was used as a writing surface.

Other languages used this root to create their words for 'bookstore', and used variations on the Greek 'bibliotheca', meaning 'book container', for their modern words for library. This is the case for Spanish, French, Italian, and many others.
