Great news, book lovers, it’s almost time for the Friends used book sale at the DeKalb Public Library!! The sale starts on Friday, November 7 and runs through Sunday, November 9. Times are 9 - 4:30 on Friday and Saturday and 1 - 4:30 on Sunday. You’ll find three rooms with tremendous bargains on books, DVDs, CDs and jigsaw puzzles.

Join the Friends of the DeKalb Public Library on Sunday, September 21 for a silent auction of rare children’s and adult books. Most are first editions that are signed by the author and/or illustrator. Featured autographs include many well-known authors, including E.L. Konigsburg, Mary Engelbreit, Jan Brett, Madeleine L’Engle, Jean M. Auel, Philip Pullman and Cathy Guisewite.

Doors of the Yusunas Room open at 2 pm and bidding closes at 3:30. Winners will be announced at 3:45 and must be present to win.

Enjoy a great afternoon of book browsing, refreshments and a craft table. All proceeds will be donated to the DeKalb Public Library.

Join the Friends on June 7 at 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. for our annual Spring Social in the fireplace lobby. Meet new people and learn more about the Friends. Stop by after Cody Clark’s Magic Show for great snacks, raffle prizes and fun kids’ activities.

Our spring book sale is coming up soon! Be sure to mark your calendar for March 21 - 23. Stop by for some great bargains in books, DVDs, CDs and jigsaw puzzles!

Hours are: Friday and Saturday, 9 am - 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, 1 - 4:30 p.m.

We are still accepting donations. Bring your gently used items to the circulation desk anytime the library is open. Please, no textbooks, encyclopedias, LPs or anything that’s been stored in damp conditions.

Last weekend’s Spring Book Sale, at the DeKalb Public Library was a great success! Hundreds of people stopped by to browse the collection of used books, DVDs, CDs, and jigsaw puzzles. Organized by the Friends, the sale raised more than $8,500.
