Did you know?....

Before deciding to put food out for stray cats, read this first!!

While feeding stray or feral cats feels heartfelt and compassionate, leaving food out or intentionally feeding them can actually cause a list of unintented issues for the community.

*More food leads to more kittens -> resulting in overpopulation of the area.

*Invites other wild animals -> providing food, or leaving your pets food out attracts other, maybe nusance animals, i.e. raccoons, skunks, or even cockroaches.

*The potential to spread disease -> providing food may attract unvaccinated cats and other animals, creating a the opportunity to spread ilnesses and parasites among local pets.

🚗 AFAS Road Ready Grant Program

When your loved one is deployed, AFAS is here to help keep your vehicle road-ready. Eligible spouses may receive up to $200 for routine vehicle maintenance through the Air & Space Forces Aid Society’s Road Ready Grant Program.

Services may include:
🔧 Oil changes
🛞 Tire rotations and alignments
🔋 Battery maintenance
🚘 Windshield wiper replacement
✔️ Other preventative maintenance services

Who can apply?
✅ Spouses of deployed Active Duty Airmen and Guardians (all ranks)
✅ Spouses of deployed Title 10/32 Guard and Reserve members (all ranks)

This one-time grant can help reduce the risk of unexpected vehicle expenses and keep you safely on the road during a deployment.

Reminder, a number of construction projects slated to start as early as next week and throughout the next year will impact your commute to and around Tinker AFB. ***IMPORTANT GATE INFO*** PLEASE READ

Starting Monday, 22 June, major road construction begins on SE 29th Street at Air Depot Boulevard that will significantly impact access to Tinker AFB.

CRITICAL INFORMATION - AVOID 29TH ST & AIR DEPOT BLVD:
During Phase 1 (approximately one month), the intersection at SE 29th St & Air Depot Blvd will have:
• NO RIGHT TURNS and NO LEFT TURNS permitted
• Traffic restricted to straight-through only
• Expect severe bottlenecks and delays at Tinker Gate

DO NOT attempt to turn onto Air Depot from 29th St during this phase.

ALTERNATE ROUTES & GATES:
To mitigate congestion, use alternate gates in the following priority:
1. Eaker Gate (TEMPORARY EXTENDED HOURS): 0530-1730, Mon-Fri - Open for inbound AND outbound traffic at Town Center Dr
2. Hruskocy Gate: 24/7 access
3. Lancer Gate: 0500-2000, Mon-Fri (accessible via Douglas Blvd exit)
4. Vance Gate: 0530-1800, Mon-Fri

IMPORTANT COMMUTING GUIDANCE:
DO NOT STOP ON I-40 during your morning commute. If you encounter backup at one gate, continue to the next available gate:
• Tinker Gate backed up → Continue to Eaker Gate
• Eaker Gate backed up → Continue to Hruskocy Gate (use both right-turn lanes from I-40 EB off-ramp)
• Hruskocy Gate backed up → Continue to Douglas Blvd exit and use Lancer Gate

STAY INFORMED:
Download the Team Tinker App for real-time traffic updates, gate status, and construction information. This will be your best resource for current conditions during your commute.

PROJECT DURATION:
The overall SE 29th Street construction project runs from 22 June 2026 through approximately February 2027 (240 calendar days). Phase 1 impacts at the Air Depot intersection are expected to last approximately one month. Later phases will utilize nightly single-lane closures (2000-0500) to minimize daytime disruption.

ACTION: Eencourage everyone to:
• Plan extra commute time starting Monday
• Avoid SE 29th St & Air Depot Blvd during Phase 1
• Use alternate gates
• Never stop on I-40
