Oh boy, see, I couldn’t be an influencer… I stink too bad at updating “my followers”.

Wow! Didn’t know it had been so long since my last post! Yikes… really need to do better. So, in a nutshell, let’s summarize!

Slipped and fell and stretched my knee. Think we’re ok… but physical therapy is gonna be happening soon.

Gallbladder hated me, decided to cause painful issues requiring it to be surgically removed. My follow-up is in a couple weeks, soooo not trying to rush it! But, I’m feeling good.

Finally, after sooo many years, we got to meet the wonderful Aurora Carbullido, mother to my Navy mentor, HM2 Anthony Carbullido. Also from Guam was Ashley and Anthony Jr. She invited us for a FEAST and to meet her Georgia family, including Michael - I’ll leave it at that for now. 😉 😉 Needless to say, they are all so amazing.

I turned another year older. I’ll just say forever 37. Yep, that age sounds nice. Spent the day how I wanted! In Cades Cove looking for bear. Found one. 😆

Cash hasn’t turned 13 yet, BUT we came to see Uncle Travis who took him to the Guitar Center where a lovely associate helped pick out a guitar, case, stand, picks, tuner, and strap. Everything but the lessons. I’ve already got those set up - weekly for 30 minutes, then practicing on his own.

🤔, I think that’s a good nut shell for now.

Knee is feeling meh. Swelling is a little more under control, but I foresee the doc sending me to therapy to do some work with the tens unit, cryo-therapy, circulation, etc.

I’m just anxious to be back to 💯!

I still am swollen around my medial and lateral portion of my knee. My doctor wants to give me another two weeks of rest, anti-inflammatories, icing, and elevating.

If the swelling hasn’t gone down by the next follow-up, she’s sending me to physical therapy to see if that’ll do the trick. She did take out my staples, maybe too soon based on the huge gashes that remain in 2/3 of my incision sites.

That’s life.

Even with a healing knee, I can still run command like a boss! Man was found safe and sound.

Meanwhile, motorcycle vs. two vehicles didn’t end as happily ever after. Literally half-mile from our boat/command. Motorcyclist had to be life-flighted out. Prayers with him and his family.

Horror movies and recovery. Love time with my Mama and Katie-Bug (plus Drew, her amazing bf). Been through the entire Scream series plus more.

Short, sweet and nothing fancy. But, starting to do some physical therapy. Just enough to make me nauseous, not enough to make me sick.

Lots of meds and ice. This surgery has been way, way tougher than the first. Same surgery, medial meniscus. I thought it was my lateral, but nope, same freakin’ thing. 😡

Thanks to my Dad and boys for helping get me ice and drinks and food. And the lovely Ms. Sarah and Mr. Kevin who have been right there to help as well.

Down in Charleston this weekend letting my Mama take care of me. F/U is Monday. Probably start pt this weekend too.

All done. Everything went as expected and I can start weight-bearing immediately, although today is mostly a rest day.

I felt like a VIP! I had Sarah and Kevin take me to surgery this morning.

There was a hiccup in pre-op when the Doc came in to sign my leg and confirm what I was having done. He signed the wrong leg and I very quickly corrected him. Apparently that was the NEXT patient. 😳

But, once things got rolling, I was out!

What a day!

THANK YOU to Sarah for helping me out tomorrow with and after surgery. She’s not just a great team player, but a great neighbor and great friend as well.
