A little into the day but better late than never!
Today we highlight NREMT-P, FP-C ➡️ Carlos Castaneda!

Carlos got his emt through the highschool program in 2015 and like many of us he began working private amabualnce. Not long after Carlos began working 911 with Val Verde EMS. Mr. Castaneda obtained his advanced credential and then became a paramedic in 2019. He got down to business and worked his 3 years and transitioned to air. Never looking back! Carlos enjoys being a medic because he is able to help people. Carlos is drawn to the flight side because of the training and autonomy that we. Perks of the job are having a nurse partner to bounce off ideas as we work together.

Fun fact about Carlos: On his downtime he enjoys flying my drone. It even made a special appearance at the base. Here’s photo evidence of it!

Thank you Carlos for being part of 134 and happy EMS week!

4th medic to highlight!

Paramedic ➡️ Amy Gonzalez

Amy is our newest medic to join 134. Amy got her emt basic in 2011 and directly advanced to a Paramedic in 2012. It is incredibly obvious that Amy has a love for working EMS. She has obtained experience working for different services. Although she had a lot of fun working in San Antonio we are glad to have her back in Del Rio. We are looking forward to seeing Amy continue to grow as a clinician!

Thank you Amy for being part of 134 and EMS! 🚑🚁

Let’s kick off EMS week!

This week we will take the time to highlight our medics from 134!

Starting off strong with our BCL, EMT-P, FP-C ➡️ George Hery

George Obtained his EMT-B through the Army National Guard in 2009. He then started working as a basic in 2012 with VVRMC and not long after became a paramedic in 2013. George joined at AirEvac in 2017 and where he obtained his FPC.

Fun fact George has a very decorative gymnastics career. However after his gymnastics career he moved Del Rio where there were no gymnastics schools to coach. He then Started working in ems and really enjoyed being part of the community and helping people in their time of need. So I guess what we’re saying is, we’re glad Del Rio had no gymnastics for George 😂

Thanks George for being such a great medic! 💪🏽
