A huge thank you to TCS Mechanical for their continued partnership and for donating more than $20,000 in equipment and supplies to the DVISD Welding Program. 🧰

This generous contribution will give students even more opportunities to build their skills through hands-on learning while preparing for future careers in the skilled trades.

🏠 Did you know? There will not be an increase in taxes for senior citizens or disabled persons as a result of Prop A.

School property taxes are frozen for those who have filed for and received the applicable exemption, as long as no significant improvements are made to the homestead.

The Over-65 Homestead Exemption has increased to $200,000. Homeowners age 65 and older with an assessed home value of $200,000 or less will now see their school district taxes drop to zero if they have filed for and received the exemption.

🍎 Del Valle ISD strives to attract high-quality teachers and support staff while maintaining top teacher pay in the district.

As health insurance premiums continue to climb, teachers and staff would effectively take home less without a pay increase.

Prop A includes $7.1 million for teacher and staff pay increases, providing a raise for approximately 2,000 employees. The funding would also allow DVISD to continue to stay competitive among neighboring districts.

📢🏈 Game Day Guidelines & Reminders 🏈📢

We’re excited to see everyone at tonight’s football game! To help keep our fans safe and ensure a great experience, please review the following expectations:

⏰ Gates & Tickets
- Gates open 1 hour before kickoff.
- Please purchase tickets online in advance. Pre-purchase tickets are discounted. https://www.dvisd.net/departments/athletics/event-tickets
- August 28 game Peanut Butter Bowl: Free entry with a jar of peanut butter (1 jar required per person)
- Veterans Memorial Stadium is cashless for both tickets and concessions.
- No refunds once tickets are purchased.

🎒 Student Expectations
- Students must have a purchased ticket and their school ID for entry.
- No student backpacks allowed.
- Elementary and Middle school students must be accompanied by an adult.

👜 Bags & Security
- Only clear bags are permitted inside Veterans Memorial Stadium.
- All bags are subject to search.
- No re-entry once you leave the stadium.

🐾 Additional Rules:
❌ No pets, with the exception of service animals.
❌No outside food or drinks. Concessions will be available.

🙌 Sportsmanship & Safety:
- Please stay in the stands during the game.
- Respect all players, coaches, officials, and fans. A new state law (SB2929) allows officials to remove anyone from the stadium without giving a warning for disruption or inappropriate behavior.

✈️ TAKING FLIGHT: Teacher Spotlight

I’m excited to kick off a new series on my social media pages this school year! Each week, I’ll showcase a teacher who is making a difference for our students and share some of the incredible work I’m seeing as I visit classrooms across Del Valle ISD.

First up is Mr. Nicholas Ange, a 4th grade science teacher at Gilbert Elementary.

During my visit, I saw students actively learning, sharing their ideas, writing, and receiving feedback from their teacher. Most importantly, they were engaged and excited about their learning.

And that hard work is showing in the results: 70% of Mr. Ange’s students showed growth and achievement in science on their MAP assessment during the 2025-2026 school year.

Thank you, Mr. Ange, for setting high expectations and helping our students take flight!
