om. Delanco Township, located in Burlington County, is a lovely waterfront town that was established as a summer retreat for people wanting to escape the summer heat of Philadelphia. Visitors from the city would arrive in Delanco by paddle wheel boat. A peninsula, bordered by both the Delaware River and the Rancocas Creek, Delanco is still a country town of about 3.2 square miles and its 4,824 residents (2020 United States Census) enjoy a nice quality of life. Delanco offers municipal and county parks, nature trails and scenic waterfront views, as well as shopping and dining, and is a stop on the Rancocas Creek Greenway Trail. Delanco touches Route 130 and is less than a 15-minute drive to Interstate 295 and the New Jersey Turnpike.

Support the heroes in our community by participating in the Hometown Heroes Banner Program, a special initiative by Delanco Township and the Delanco History Board. This program is designed to honor and remember the veterans who have served with distinction.

Funds raised will cover the cost of creating and installing banners that provide a lasting tribute to those who have sacrificed for our freedom.

Cost is $100 and can be purchased by Credit Card by clicking the link in the SeeMyLegacy campaign and the photo uploaded. If you wish to pay by cash or check, please visit the Delanco Twp Municipal Building during their normal business hours. You will need to bring a photo with you to have the Township scan it and then it will be returned to you.

Honor active, retired, or honorably discharged members of the six recognized United States Armed Forces service branches!

Info needed: Veteran's Name, Branch of Military, Rank (optional), Dates of Service (optional), your contact information (name, address, phone and email.)

The Banners will be displayed on the black light poles along Burlington Ave, during our Centennial year celebration and again each November for years to come.

The Recreation Commission has been closely monitoring the weather forecast for tomorrow and the rain is forecast to stop in time for the parade to go on!

The Parade begins at West Avenue at 1:00PM and will continue down Burlington Avenue to Gateway Park. After the parade there will be a Memorial Service at Gateway Park.
