Job well done, sir.
We are so proud of the work your students, staff, and leadership team accomplished this past year.
Keep your focus right where it’s always been, on the students, the classrooms, the teachers and the community you serve every day.
A Statement from Principal Julian Doster:
At Pine Ridge High School, we welcome conversations about student achievement because we believe in transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. However, it’s important that those conversations are based on a full understanding of how Florida’s accountability system works.
For high school English Language Arts, the state’s reported proficiency rate is based on the performance of ninth and tenth grade students. Those data do not include our eleventh and twelfth grade students. High school is a four-year journey, and students who have not yet met proficiency continue receiving targeted instruction, intervention, and intensive reading support throughout their junior and senior years to ensure they meet Florida’s graduation requirements.
While proficiency percentages provide one snapshot, they do not tell the complete story of a school’s impact. At Pine Ridge, we are proud that we have continued to improve student performance in English Language Arts, as well as in U.S. History and Biology. We have also seen growth across our student subgroups over the past several years, demonstrating our commitment to ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Our commitment extends well beyond state assessments. This past year, Pine Ridge High School achieved the highest College and Career Acceleration rate in our school’s history, with nearly 90% of our graduating Class of 2026 leaving high school prepared for their next step. Whether through college credit, industry certifications, military readiness, career pathways, or other postsecondary opportunities, our students are graduating with the knowledge, skills, and credentials needed to succeed beyond high school. That is one of the most meaningful measures of the work we do.
Equally important, academic success cannot happen without a safe, supportive learning environment. Every day, our first priority is ensuring that students and staff are safe. We have worked intentionally to strengthen our school culture by recognizing and rewarding positive behavior, building student pride, and creating an environment where doing the right thing is celebrated—not just where inappropriate behavior is addressed.
Our mission has always been bigger than a single test score. It is about preparing students for graduation, equipping them for success after high school, creating a school where they feel safe and valued, and fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and Panther pride.
I am incredibly proud of the dedication of our students, teachers, staff, families, and community. Their hard work continues to move Pine Ridge High School forward, and while we know there is always more work to do, we are committed to building on that momentum every single day.
