Residents will see these hangers on doors beginning next week. Work will done town wide, you should see a notice on your door a day or two before work will begin in your area.

Work should be completed by October 1st, weather permitting.
Please call the number on door hanger with any questions.

Yikes! Please do your part: Break it down, make room, and recycle responsibly.

Flatten the box. Make room for others. Repeat.

By doing this it will keep our community clean, efficient, and slightly less buried in cardboard.

Rebecca Lowry was sworn in at the most recent City Council meeting by City Clerk Tia Galloway. She will fill the remainder of former Ward 3 Alderman Douglas Burys's term. The Ward 3 seat will be on the ballot in April, along with Ward 1 seat held by Joshua Lusher and the Ward 2 seat held by Brent Nafziger.

The Consolidated Election will take place April 6th, 2027.

Packets for Circulation can be picked up on August 25th, 2026 at City Hall.

The April Election will be held for the following seats

Ward 1- 4 year term
Ward 2- 4 year term
Ward 3- 4 year term

Filing Period for the Consolidated Election will be November 16-23 during normal business hours.

The last day to file petition is Monday, November 23, 2026, City Hall will stay open until 5 pm.

Just a reminder mosquito spraying will take place on Wednesday, August 5th. The final spraying has been moved from September 2, 2026 to September 1, 2026.

The City of Delavan will be closed Wednesday, August 5th through Friday, August 7th from 8 am to 1pm. We will open from 1pm to 4:30 during those days.

The City of Delavan is evaluating a potential update to how residential garbage and recycling services are provided and is seeking input from residents before any decisions are made.

The structure being considered would coordinate a single, city-wide waste collection program with a contracted provider. This approach is commonly used in similar communities and is intended to create a more consistent and organized system.

As part of this process, the City will contact and solicit proposals from all interested providers, both local and national, to compare service levels and rate structures. All qualified providers will be evaluated using the same criteria.

Potential benefits may include:

Consistent service across the community
More predictable and transparent pricing
Simplified billing through the City
Improved handling of service issues
The opportunity to reduce costs through group-based pricing possible 30 to 50% savings
In many cases, communities that have adopted similar programs have seen meaningful reductions compared to individually contracted services.

No final decisions have been made. The City is seeking feedback on:

Current satisfaction with services
Interest in a coordinated program
Any concerns or considerations
