This post is brought to you by Trailhead Bar & Grill, Williamson Pharmacy, 3 Guys Pizza & Brew.

Mingo Central's Devin Maynard shot a +9 (81) to capture 2nd place at the Bluegrass Golf Tournament on Tuesday at StoneCrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg.

Maynard shot a +4 on the front 9 and a +5 on the back 9. On the day, he collected 11 pars on the 18 hole course.

Many people know Maynard for his shooting exploits on the basketball court, but he also shows a different type of good shooting on the fairways!

Congratulations to Devin Maynard on a fantastic showing from all of us at D&D Sports Network!

This is an important announcement from the administration of Mingo Central High School regarding a previously announced event.

The ceremony for naming the football field at Buck Harless Stadium has been canceled.

Following the action taken in December, and announcements by the school, it became clear that stakeholders were not given adequate opportunity for input on how to best honor individuals who have made contributions to the successes of Mingo Central and its academic and athletic programs. Mingo County School District has a policy which supports broad community input when considering the naming of school facilities. The district will support the school in developing a guide for any individual or organization that would bring any future request to the Board of Education or its designated executive.

The request for naming the football field may be resubmitted according to the current policy. We regret any difficulty or inconvenience from the cancellation.
